Import of a used car within Europe

Step 1. Internet

Of all neighbour-countries Germany has the best opportunities for importing a vehicle.

Various internet sites are available where you can find your dream car. While searching, please pay attention at the date of issue of the vehicle: the older the date of issue, the more vertical discount will be calculated on your BPM.

Step 2. Call Ria Bijvelds Auto Import Services

Ria Bijvelds . Auto Import Services has more than 10 years experience in importing vehicles from Germany. We will go through all details with you, from purchase to getting the Dutch license. We offer a great variety in how you want us to deal with your purchase. We can and will assist you with all your choices.

You can even give us an order for searching a vehicle, so that not you, but we will search for your dream car.

Further we offer to make a global calculation of "rest amount of BPM". The calculation can be done in three ways:

1. The BPM depreciation table
2. A report of appraisal
3. Current rates

Either you or we can now calculate the rest amount of BPM. Using the first option (depreciation table) gives the obligation of issuing a report of appraisal. Costs herefore are estimated between € 200,00 and € 300,00 exclusive VAT.

However, if the customs do not agree with the estimated BPM value, a contra-expertise can be requested by them.

Step 3. Purchase of the vehicle

We strongly advise to make a test ride with the car. Also inspecting the car thoroughly is definitely a must. If you decide to buy, it is important to make a good agreement and to make sure this agreement is put onto paper. Right here we can help you by sending an expert to the vehicle. He will inspect the vehicle and will also make the test ride. In accordance with you he will eventually buy the vehicle. Prices for helping you with the purchase are on request.

Step 4. Transport

It is not allowed to just drive with your new vehicle as you do not have a registered license plate. The vehicle has to be transported to the Netherlands. You can solve this in various ways:

1. We can arrange the transport by having your vehicle picked up by a transport company.
2. Temporary export plates. (these 5-days plates will cost € 175 exclusive VAT, together with a WA insurance)

Step 5. License

Being arrived in The Netherlands, the vehicle has to be completed with a Dutch license. Ria Bijvelds Auto Import Services takes care of this all-in.
